So with the SVX-R ‘done’ (if I dont get a new bike, I’m thinking 180 rear tire)

I already have an idea for the next project.

Acquire one (1) Honda grom with a broken motor.
Acquire one (1) Honda CBR 250 or CBR 300 that has a good motor.

Rip out junk 125 CC engine and 4 speed from the grom
Install CBR250/300 motor in grom with 6 speed transmission.

Plus suspension work (thinking back to the one I had, the shock where soft...but this time, just re-build stock pieces, no swapping stuff out)

How hard can it be?! Plus groms and CBR 250s are cheap. I could order a crashed CBR250/300 on copart for like 250$ or something CHEAP.

How bad of an idea is this?

I’m thinking that way to complex and annoying to put on a friggen grom. not to mention packaging issues.

I doubt that would even be possible, to be honest. The packaging just isn’t there. The CBR engine is going to be much wider than the Grom engine, and since the Grom has the horizontal thumper, there’s simply no place to put an upright 4.

Ah whoops, yeah. Still, you’re stuck with the problem of sticking a vertical peg in a horizontal space.

Well shit, color me wrong then.

Now you owe it to us to follow through on it, though. My Karmann Ghia only has two more horsepower than that theoretical Grom would, so I think that should be a pretty adequate number.

finances will put this on hold for...quite sometime if i’m honest. but its 100% something that will happen. maybe in 2-3 years. I still need to get that triumph sportbike first.
and a car...
and should probably start saving for a house....dam being 20 and trying to have something remotely resembling financial sense

Though with how cheap a grom and CBR 250/300 engine will be... I might only need like 3G to build it.
